Nicki Minaj Performs In Angola Despite Human Rights Activist Plea To Cancel Concert

'Oh hai, Angola!': Nicki Minaj posted this photo on Instagram on Saturday after arriving in Angola to play a Christmas concert for a company part-owned by the family of the country's President Eduardo dos Santos

Nicki Minaj  performed in Angola despite human rights activist and critics called for her concert to be cancelled in the impoverished African country. She performed at a Christmas party hosted by a communication firm part-owned by President Jose Eduardo dos Santos’ family.

She was reportedly paid $2million for the performance, More than a third of the population of Angola live below the poverty line and nearly 70 percent of people live on less than $2 a day. Mariah Carey was criticized  for performing for the same leader in 2013.
