A supposed widower who held a funeral for his wife two years ago was shocked when she appeared on a popular TV programme that reconnects loved ones who have lost touch. Abragh Mohamed had been told by doctors at a Casablanca hospital that his beloved wife was killed in a road accident and he had no reason to think otherwise until she popped up on the popular Moroccan show.
The unnamed woman phoned in and said she had lost contact with her husband and gave his name and former address. The grieving husband wasn’t watching at the time but was informed by his friends that his “dead” wife was a caller on the 'Al Mujtafun (Desaparecidos)' or 'Al Mujtafun (Disappeared)' series.
He told Spanish press: "I did not know it was a different body that we buried and my wife was still alive." After the crash, Abragh had taken his wife to A&E where he was told by doctors his wife probably wouldn’t survive but that they needed him to pay for the operation.
He travelled four hours back to his home town of Azilal to retrieve the funds and when he returned he was told his wife had passed away. Abragh later received what he believed to be his wife’s body, wrapped in a shroud and inside a coffin, which is how she was buried.
Questions are now being asked as to how this could have happened in the first place and why the woman took so long to retrace her husband, with some suspecting she could have lost her memory.
